We made the drive to Hickory today to see Evan's Grandma! It was nice to visit with James' mother again and Evan had loads of fun. Evan was a bit upset when we arrived from being penned in the car but when we took him out to lunch he cheered right up!
Evan had fun at Grandma's house getting into all sorts of things he shouldn't and having a ball trying to get to them once removed from his grasp! It was a great visit and he is STILL wound up from all the fun today and here it is 9:30pm. Here is Evan having some fun in Grandma's kitchen.
Who needs toys when you have wonderful things like empty bowls and bottles of lotion to play with. Grandma had a most interesting bear of which Evan reamained ever skeptical. Click the thumbnail below to see the bear's rendition of "Cherish" by David Cassidy- Note the look on Evan's face.

Hurricane Evan
The devastation of Evan day to day has become almost unbelievable. Since he has been able to walk, an entirely new world of objects has opened up, and so has the ability to move them from place to place. Just the other day James and I noticed a set of toys missing and we looked everywhere. Finally we resigned ourselves to the fact that the toys probably were put in the trash can courtesy of Evan despite the trashcan having a lid. James dug through the the coffee grounds and cat litter in the trash and sure enough, the two missing pieces of Evan's toy were at the bottom of the bag. Somehow at a tiny moment when the lid was up, Evan had managed to throw them in there without me seeing.
I took some pictures to chronical the devistation and this was not the worst I have seen it.
A toronado comes and scatters the toys about the room.
The kitchen is no refuge from the toddler storm.
My towels end up all over the house.
The cabinet is for storing things, including toys, sippy cups and couch pillows.
Caught in the act of emptying his book case.
Take shelter! Here comes the storm!

Some Evan Pics
Super Evan in his red cape, using his X-Ray vision to peer into a building. This was at his friend's Emma's house.
Evan playing hard to get for Emma. Emma was wanting to give a lot of affection to Evan but Evan just wasn't ready for that! ha ha!
Evan showing off his poking for Emma.
Evan is totally over his fear of getting messy. He still doesn't feed himself but he loves to smear it around.
Evan watching tv in his new chair!
Evan hanging out with daddy in front of the computer.

Haircut Day
Evan's hair was getting a little shaggy. So today was the big haircut day!
BEFORE:
At the haircut place, sitting in a cool airplane. He also had a tv to watch Elmo.
Getting ready to snip. Evan didn't really enjoy that spray bottle, but who does? Cold, wet mist on your neck, yuck!
Not really enjoying this too much.
A toy makes it all better.
A calm, clipped Evan, right before the clippers came out to "clean it up." I don't have any pictures from that part because the hairdresser started clipping and Evan had a MELTDOWN. Because she had started we had to finish the clip or he would have had a big gap in the hair on his neckline. So unfortunately we had to hold Evan's head still and that did not go over well.
After the hair cut we took Evan to The Toy Box and bought him a new wooden block train. The blocks have holes in them that fit onto pegs on the train and we all know how much Evan loves poking holes!
Then we went and got Evan some new shoes for walking. He is wearing them here with one of said blocks in front of him:
Then we bought him a couple new board books and took him out to eat where he had Haircut Day dinner and dessert. Evan loves to eat out so he was very happy.
I think he looks very sharp don't you?
