So we think Evan has some teeth coming through in a few weeks. I can feel them, hard, on the front of his lower gums.

Evan loves when Daddy gets home and they have some time together. Evan also enjoys some crawling around in the buff after bath time.

His new thing is to growl and he is doing it in the open mouth picture above while he was eating. He also was making funny faces when I gave him a bit of egg yolk. He didn't see to care for it but he would smile when I would laugh at his face and the result was the scrunched up smile.

He is also very into banging toys together and is fascinated when a toy is placed within another toy, such as the football in the cup above.

What a cutie.

Have a good weekend everyone! It finally cooled down here and we have already been on a couple walks. I know we will enjoy the weekend outside.

It is so hot here! Of course I think it is hot everywhere else too so you may not have sympathy. But when one has a baby, it is difficult when you can't get out. Evan is getting grumpy in the afternoons as we don't go on our usual walk or visit to the park. Going to the grocery store is our big trip late in the day now.

Evan is pretty much crawling. He moves forward in different ways, sometimes on his knees. He also started pushing himself up into a sitting position the other day. He knew exactly what he did too because he was VERY pleased with himself.

So sitting up on his own puts a wrench in our bedtime routine. As soon as we leave the room Evan sits up and starts crying in his crib. It is as if he doesn' t know what to do from there. We go in after a few minutes and lay him down and he sits up again. We are going to modify his bedtime routine a bit due to this new skill. We usually rock him before bed for some snuggle time but now he just squirms too much for that to be relaxing. So I think now is the time to sit with a book or for some light play with a stuffed animal before bed.

He is growing fast and into everything. In one of the above pictures you will see he crawls over to the window to sit and watch the birds on the feeders.

Evan has also gone with us to visit friends and had them over. We saw Elisabeth and Sharat a few weeks ago. Elisabeth is due by the middle of next month. Sandrine stopped by to visit as well and Evan was very pleased.

Evan has the most expressive face I have ever seen. From day one he has not been afraid to hide his emotions as they are written all over his face.

I find it very difficult to believe many times as I am sifting to our thousands of photos of him, that there are only 7 1/2 months behind those complex expressions.

I hope he retains this openness to life for a long time and I know we all enjoy witnessing his budding personality.
