Evan is almost 18 months old and he certainly is a lot of fun. We took him to a park yesterday and he had his first carousel ride. He was unsure of the horse until we started going round and round and he loved it. He smiled from ear to ear and as I said "Yay!" Evan said "Ya!"
Today we drove about 1.5 hours to the NC Zoo. It was a beautiful day, if a little hot, and the park only was getting crowded about when we left. The Zoo is more like a wildlife preserve with a lot of space for the animals to roam.

A big bison, cooling off in the clay.
Lions lounging in the heat.
Evan liked this guy, a polar bear.
The sealions were so cute. They were all swimming around in their pond with their eyes closed. They must have opened them occasionally or used their whiskers because they would turn at the last moment before running into the wall of the pond.

Evan was worn out after a long walk across the zoo.

Same old Same old
Well, except that we are expecting another little one at the end of this year and pretty soon we will be closing on our first house, both very exciting. Beyond that, same old same old.
Here is evidence of Evan in the house, small towers.
After we returned from the beach I was clearing out the cabinets of some older cereal to make way for newer cereal. I put the boxes of cereal next to the trash and Evan started playing with his Cheerios box. I turned around and WHOOSH, Cheerios everywhere. Evan picked through to find the yogurt covered Cheerios. He was stripped down ready for bath time.
This is (sort-of) what Evan does when he is full. He makes funny faces and shakes his head "no" when he doesn't want another bite of food.

Trip to the Beach!
We went down to Hilton Head again. This is becoming a family tradition. We were there for a week and it was really fun and relaxing. Me, my Mom, my Dad, Evan, James, my brother, my cousin, Will, my Uncle John and Aunt Maria all made the trek to Hilton Head for a very nice time.
Evan and Will playing when we arrived. Evan really liked will and would sit on him on the couch to watch tv and give him hugs every morning.
Grandma showing Evan how to stomp around in a puddle after a thundershower.
It was cooler when we arrived at the beach and we didn't do much. Also Evan was in the middle of a pretty bad cold.
Just get your feet wet a little.
Not sure what to make of it. Evan was pretty mesmerized by the ocean.
Beach day 2. A bit warmer, maybe today will work out better.
Checking out Frank, the seagull. Both he and Evan share an affinity for Cheez-Its.
The beach house. It was very big but really cozy, a nice layout as well.
Evan and Grandad enjoying a morning on the porch.
Building "Turtle Palace" with Daddy.
A little warmer out today, really starting to like the beach.

Evan is 17 Months Old!
(and Mommy is 29 years old)
Evan and I went to a kids' park this morning and it was alot of fun!
Why won't this ball roll?
Wait up Mom!
Evan loves to bat at the leaves on bushes.
Evan watch out for that sea monster!
This is the view I see most often when Evan and I go anywhere these days.
Evan loves to share his milk and he offers a sip me, James, strangers and dogs.
One of Evan's favorite activities right now is stacking blocks and legos. I have seen the block towers get 7 blocks high! He takes the time to center each block as well.
The obligatory 17 month photo. Big boy!
