and Evan..loves...Elmo...too!
We bought Evan "Knows Your Name Elmo." It is Evan's first "tech toy" as we have to plug Elmo into the USB port of our computer and program Elmo's name and Evan's schedule for Elmo to keep track of.
Evan was wary of Elmo at first, but now he has really come to like him and he does respond when Elmo says "Hello...Evan, lets play!"
Here I found Evan reading his book Elmo Loves You.
Stop taking my picture and let me read in peace!
Evan carries Elmo around sometimes, they are best buds. Sometimes he does carry Elmo by the neck and head. When the new baby comes, Evan will not be allowed to carry it like he carries Elmo :-).
A little kiss or chew on the eyeballs.
A cuddle and hug.
Then Evan sits Elmo down to go do his own thing.
Evan also tried to give Elmo milk but he was too quick and I didn't get a picture.

Evan's Third Haircut
I am really pleased with Evan's third haircut. His hair was getting a little long and out of control because I put off a haircut after our second haircut experience. Evan became HYSTERICAL during that second haircut, and pretty much went into a staring, unfocused state of sobbing and screaming. All of which amounted to an uneven and unsatisfactory haircut, which is in no way the fault of the hairdresser under the circumstances.
This third haircut I scheduled after nap time and when we went I had them NOT put the smock on, because I think it freaked him out not being able to see his arms last time. Then I had them wet the comb instead of his head, which he hates. He also stood up in the "car" the whole time instead of me forcing him to sit. She even used some virutally silent battery operated clippers to even it all up and let Evan play with them and even got him laughing at one point. All that coupled with a hairstylist lady who was fast and precise and a receptionst who was deft in her timing of presenting Evan with Elmo toys, (Elmo is his absolute FAVORITE right now) we got through a great haircut without a single tear.
Now we have the perfect short haircut for summer and plenty of time for it to grow before the NEXT haircut.
I got the hairstylist's name and I will be headed back to her next time. I gave Evan his first Tootsie Pop on the way home and he loved it. He loved it so much that it was all over his face and in his hair, ear and all over the car seat by the time we got home. It was right into the bathtub as soon as we stepped through the door between the hair and sticky mess.
Before: getting shaggy!

A Day in the Life of Evan
Time for Evan to wakeup!
Good morning Mr. Bouncy Baby!
Now we eat First Breakfast.
Then watch some Doodlebops.
After a while we get dressed and Evan has Second Breakfast.
Let's go outside!
We will go for a little walk!
Upstairs getting ready for naptime. Evan loves to look out the window
Now he is upset I took him away from the window to get ready for nap time.
Let's read before nap!
Happy napping!
Anywhere from 1.5-3 hrs pass and then I hear somebody!
Looks like you had an intense nap Evan!
Time for lunch!
Everyone loves PB&J!
Lets go out to the grocery store!
Ready?
Time to get stuff for dinner.
Yay Daddy is home!
Now we go for a walk.
Then we wrestle a bit.
Dinner time!
Then we go up for a bath.
Brush teeth.
Story time with Daddy. A very fun time of day.
Night Night Everybody!

Happy (belated) Fourth!
Evan and I went up to my parent's house for this Fourth while James stayed home. We missed him but had a great time.
Evan considering the pool.
He ended up really liking the pool and we went in every day we were up at my parents. He also had a little floaty ring he sat in for a bit as well.
Wrapped up with Grandma.
Checking out a mysterious still creature in the birdbath.
Taking a walk in the afternoon.
Move out of the way Grandad I want to head down that steep hill!
Evan loved playing with his cousin, Maryn.
Evan's cousin Sean is oblvious to the ruckus.
Cousin Will loves on Evan.
Maryn was practicing her Hollywood smile all night.
Don't you want to go out and see the fireworks? My family out did themselves this year.
Whoa did you hear that?
I ended up taking Evan in to go to bed about half way through the show because he had reached his limit! He had a late bedtime and slept late too.
