We are so lucky my parents host an annual beach trip every year. They invite extended family and we all gather for lots of relaxing, laughs, playing, lounging, dining, imbibing and memory making. It is a treasure to share it with our boys who look forward to it every year.
Evan did a little better this year around the water until he took a spill and ended up under water and then later the tide came rushing up to our beach blanket and we had to scramble to move everything. The power of the ocean was apparent to him then and the rest of the trip he preferred to stay as far away as we let him. Drew enjoyed the ocean and seemed mesmerized by it at times.
I am already looking forward to next year.
Garden City, SC, beach at sunset.
Beach house with Sand Castle 1.0 being reclaimed by the tide.
When we first arrived and were waiting for the rest of our group the boys had a water gun fight to kick things off.
On the beach.
Good food.
Maria's Spaghetti.
Smores.
Hail to the Smores Man!
Cook outs.
Painter's Homemade Ice Cream, a couple of times.*
*My Mom would probably like it noted she didn't bother with her hair at the windy beach.
Fun and Games
Dominoes with Aunt Leigh.
Dinosaurs hatching out of a volcano.
Arcade fun.
Mom is stunned at my insane Skeeball skills.
Golfing with Shelly, Ed, Daddy and Uncle Mike. Evan declared that he and Uncle Mike's team won.
Reading with Grandad, aka Uncle Chuck.
Have a wonderful summer everyone!
