Evan is Pleased with Himself

I will get to the pictures that pertain the post heading later in this entry but I also wanted to show you a few other things Evan has been up to lately.

I think Evan might be ready to do his own blog updates don't you?



Finally after being rather unsure of bubbles for months Evan is starting to enjoy them. When he was younger he didn't enjoy the soapy globes popping all over his face.







Last Saturday we went to the 1st birthday party of Ryan! If you look back in blog a year ago you will see a post about little Ryan's birth.



At Ryans party Evan procured a kidney shaped mirror and spend a lot of time gazing at himself and cuddling with himself.





At bathtime each day Evan spends some time gazing at himself and making various faces in the drainage cover. He seems endlessly fascinated.

Week of Grandmas and Birthdays!

Evan's Grandma, James' Mom came to visit for James' birthday. We had a lot of fun and we finally had enough room for her to stay over for a night.

Evan's other Grandma, my Mom, came down for a visit and brought us the rest of Evan's baby supplies such as swing and exersaucer for little Drew. We were so busy running around that we didn't get any pictures! Shame shame!

Lately Evan as been fascinated with flat surfaces and he will lay his head on the floor or table and watch a car or fork or ANYTHING go back and forth across the flat surface. This is what happens when you do this on the table at meal time!





Tonight was James' birthday and Evan stayed up extra late to enjoy dinner and birthday cake. Today also marks our first ever "time out" for hitting. We also enjoyed an evening walk to burn off some of the toddler energy before dinner.





Evan was pretty fascinated by the candles on James' cake!

This weekend we have our friend's son's 1st birthday party and Evan is excited about that!

Evan is 20 Months Old!

We forgot a 19 mos photo, ah well. That was over July 4th when Evan and I were out of town. Evan is getting pretty good at feeding himself with a fork. We are still encouraging talking and Evan does talk in his own language, and talks a lot!

We are probably going to get Evan a big boy bed sometime towards the end of October, though he does LOVE his crib. In the morning when we go to get him when he wakes up he wants to just hang out in his crib instead of getting up.



Evan LOVES to go out and "help" James wash the cars. Okay, so Evan doesn't help at all. He didn't even help when I washed HIS little car. I let him know that is NOT going to happen when he is 16!

Snips and Snails and Puppy Dogs Tails?

We are having another little boy!



James and I are very excited! Evan is so much fun so all we can do is look forward to his little brother. I hope Evan will enjoy him one day too!

He sort-of looks like Evan did, but who can really tell?







Evan had a terrible cold last week and he is still a little stopped up from it. He had a pretty high fever from it one night as well. Here he is resting on Daddy, completely pooped.



We are suffering the heat wave across the country as are many of you. It really is unbearable and we are pretty much cooped up. There are only so many times one can go to the mall play area and Evan isn't quite old enough even for fun places like children's museums. So here we are, stuck.

This weekend we put Evan in the baby pool and introduced him to playing with the hose. It was too funny each time he tried to look at the hole where the water was coming out and completely got himself in the face several times.
