Evan is Feeling Better

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Evan has a residual cough from the virus but that is about it. The cold weather is starting to set in here and it finally feels like Autumn. Don't forget to "Fall-back" this Saturday!

After a nice Autumn evening drive he pulls his baby into the garage so that she will look shiny for the next drive.

Whew, what a week.

Evan caught a virus and was up most of Sunday and Monday night. Tuesday he just laid on me all day and flopped around like a ragdoll with the 103 degree fever he had for a few days. Tuesday night Evan slept without interruption from 6:30pm until 7:00am! It was great. Then on Wednesday he developed a cough and last night there was not much sleep at all for either of us.

Poor Evan lays there in his crib in the dark and just says, "eeerrrr rar ra ra ra ba ba" in a hoarse voice. This can go on for over an hour. I think it is just because he doesn't feel well and lays awake. So I don't sleep either. I get up and check his temperature here and there. Last night it was down to 100 and this morning 99 so I think this chest congestion is the tail end of the virus he had.

James is out of town which is making it doubly hard because he is a great Dad and takes care of Evan very well, when he is not here, I surely notice it, especially when Evan is ill. Luckily he is coming home this afternoon!

Wednesday we were supposed to host a playdate which I was looking forward to, and today Evan and I were supposed to go the State Fair with the playgroup which of course we could not do. James is going to take Evan and I tomorrow or Saturday morning which I am greatly looking forward to. Being cooped up in this gorgeous Autumn weather is hard on both Evan and me.

Next week we have a Halloween party with the playgroup and then I go up and host my friend Tina's baby shower! Then it is Halloween and trick-or-treating with Evan and his cousin Maryn. Evan can't wait to be in his costume again!

In the meantime here are some pictures. Every evening we have bathtime as part of the bedtime routine and Evan just can't wait to dive in. Here he is eagerly awaiting the bath to be drawn.

What is that you say? Playdate!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Today Evan had a playdate with his friend Emma who is two weeks older! They had some fun. Emma's mom Amy and I had to break up a few disagreements over toys and spatulas but all in all they had so much fun!

The Pumpkin Patch!!!

Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch! It was a little bit of a drive but it was a beautiful day and the perfect morning for wearing costumes. Here is Evan the night before and then today in the Patch with all his friends.

"Oh, all of a sudden I am feeling the call of the wild!"

At Hillridge Farms. The last picture was on a hay ride! Evan enjoyed the hay ride very much and giggled *most* of the way.

Apple!

First Evan sleeping. awwww! Just like his Dad with his arms over his head and snoring.

I was eating an apple today and Evan was very interested. I have him a taste and he liked to gnaw on it with his bottom teeth. He cried when I took it away!

A Fun Week

We had a playdate this week and that was very fun. Evan saw another baby with a bottle though and demanded that he must have it! I had to rectify the situation by making one for him even though it wasn't anywhere near time for his bottle. Babies!

Everyone asks, "Jennifer, where are you in the blog?" I don't like to post pictures of myself, it may be cliche, but it is true. Anyway, this isn't the greatest picture but here you go.

My longtime friend from Asheville, Christy came to visit this weekend. We haven't seen her in a year and a half so it was very nice to visit. She met Evan for the first time! We had loads of fun. As you can see Chloe was so happy to see Christy again too.

Finally, here is Evan looking as cute as ever.

Evan is 10 Months old!!!

Does Evan look confused in the first photo? It may be because I was commanding him to STAY! so I could at least get a size reference picture.

Evan is all over the place with his new mobility. He is pulling up on everything and has pulled over a floor lamp in his efforts. Talk about a heart attack moment for me! Evan is also just starting to cruise.

With all the people he is around the last week he has really come along with attempting to communicate. He is a little quieter now that we are home from vacation but he started saying, da da da, ma ma ma, and ba ba ba. He much prefers da da da though.

This weekend Evan was chasing Chloe, our wiener dog and saying da da da! James made sure to let Evan know that the dog is not da da da! but doggie or Chloe! We definately don't want Evan confusing the two!

It is fun to hear him babbling over the baby monitor when he is in his crib as well. Perhaps he is having a conversation with Pooh Bear.

Fall is finally here and the heat has broken so I am looking forward to a lot more outside time with Evan in the next couple months. We are finishing up our colds and hopefully next week we will be ready to be out and about with fervor.

I hope you all are well, have a good week!
