Our First Family Portrait and More!

It was very hard to get Evan to sit still with us in the photographs. We had what I call a "Terrible Two Day" Evan is so easy going most of the time that we really don't have Terrible Twos except on occasional bad days. However despite this we managed to get one decent family picture and a few of Drew. Drew also had a short fuse as well. I guess it was just one of those days!

James caught me being silly with Drew. Evan was trying to take a picture too so his finger ended up in the picture.

Evan didn't want to take this oven mitt off the other night. He even went through half of dinner with it on.

I taught Evan to pat Drew lovingly on the head instead of knock knocking him on the skull. I knew one day that when Evan would give Drew a kiss that means he has accepted him. Evan kisses me, his Dad, his Grandmas and a few stuffed animals, but never Drew. Today I asked him if he wanted to kiss Drew and he leaned in and gave Drew a kiss right on the lips! It was so cute! I made such a big deal about it that Evan did it about 5 more times that day. Here he is going in for a smooch.

Drew is 3 Months Old!

Drew is three months old! He is starting to grab things between his thumb and forefinger and is cooing up a storm. I can even get a few laughs out of him. His favorite thing is to have shirts pulled up over his head. I am guaranteed a giggle and a huge smile doing that!

Some Miscellaneous Pictures

Say Cheese! It's picture time. Evan runs around with the disposable saying "cheese" and "taking our picture"

We walked 3 miles on Sunday around a local lake. I did it with hefty boy in the bjorn too. woof!

Drew has a touch of my stomach flu (that I caught the second time in 3 months!) and consequently had a few diaper blowouts. Here he is after I stripped him from the 2nd blowout of the day.

Drew's first time in the exersaucer. He isn't a huge fan.

But he wasn't as horrified as Evan was the first time.

Drew's cheeks got too heavy so he is resting them on his collar.

Evan's new train table, he loves to push the cars and trains down the hills. I need to get some track clips though, James and I are tired of putting it back together 2x a day!

I said I would never dress my kids in matching outfits but boy once you have 2 of the same kind you feel an innate DRIVE to do it. So I bought them a couple pairs of matching PJ's. I tried to get a good picture of them both finally together in their matching duds but it seemed one would always cooperate and the other wouldn't so these will just have to do.

Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day!

We went to the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday and it was really really cold and windy and we didn't dress warmly enough and some woman was irritated with Evan stepping up and down the curb even though we were there long before she plopped down her little folding bench and just because we aren't the type of people to bring chairs with us to a parade doesn't mean that wasn't our spot where my son could enjoy a little up down curb action. So we moved so I wouldn't say something I regret to her and we ended up near a truck that was "unloading" stuff for the festival , ie. parked with the owner no where to be found except when he came to back the truck up right in front of us because of some complaining geriatrics, park then leave again! So we moved AGAIN to another spot and there we stayed until we left the parade early only to be stuck in the parking garage for 45 mins waiting for them to open up the street where the parking garage exited. At least we were warm in the car though. It was fun, ha!

Okay, here he is a little later a bit happier. I only sit him in it for a couple minutes at a time b/c he doesn't have quite the neck support to sit there for long.

Double Trouble

We took a walk in our new double stroller last weekend. Evan was excited about his new ride. Drew was luke warm and lasted about 15 mins until I had to take him out. I brought the Baby Bjorn on the walk because I knew he wouldn't last long! I love the stroller. It is compact and only 14 lbs.

Drew looking so cute! His eyes are bluer than Evan's were when he was an infant, but who knows what color they will end up? I will trust what I see when he is 18 months old. That is when Evan's finally completely turned that beautiful brown color.

Evan *loves* it now when it is just him and I. I have Drew on me almost all the time so in the rare moment Drew is napping and Evan isn't I really try to focus on Evan and spending quality time with him. Today we left Drew with James and headed out to the Greenway. It has been hard to leave Drew with James because we have had problems with him accepting the bottle. Drew had a good time with Daddy today though, which made Evan and my trip even nicer. Unfortunately the "Giant Bird Nest" that Evan loves so much was just an installation piece at the NC Art Museum Greenway and it is gone now. But Evan and I had a lot of fun just strolling on a sunny day. Evan probably walked over a mile. It felt really good to just get out together, like we used to.

Exhausted

We are all exhausted in this house due to Drew's frequent waking in the night. Ahh the newborn days. Evan is exhausted because he is a 2 year old. He falls asleep sitting up like this quite a bit. His room is actually pretty dark but the picture looks like the lights are on due to the flash.

Evan talks a lot, including to himself on the phone. I wonder who he is modeling himself after in these phone conversations?
