Sojourn

That's what we did these past few days to Grandma and Granddad's in Virginia. James was on business in Columbia, Maryland and joined us on Friday courtesy of Michael braving the Friday evening traffic to go pick him up. When we arrived Evan and Maggie warmed right up to each other, and I don't think Evan has been licked more in his little life, at least not by me.

We also went to the pool the Ballard's belong to and spent some time in the baby pond. Evan enjoyed cooling off and seeing his cousin-buds.

Today we visited the National Aquarium in D.C. I imagine it is much smaller than its 1930's counter-part in Baltimore. It was however nice to escape to the cool dark blue windows from the recent swealtering heat. Also the windows were small enough and just the right height for Evan when he was sitting on my hip. Evan enjoyed the fish and didn't even notice as a sea turtle was attempting to snap of Evan's cute clover nose.
